Special Workshop Series What a great way to show your friends and family what you've been doing with your time! After 10 years leading Ultra Gypsy and the tribal bellydance movement Jill Parker has been recognized as the standard bearer both as a performer and instructor. In this essential workshop Jill teaches choreography and provides coaching that made her Zaghareet Magazine's Instructor of the Year. She'll share her insights on the details and attitude that make the steps come alive! Come prepared to learn and grow skills specific to performance with a pioneer of the bellydance theatre form. All Levels Welcome! A couple months experience with the Jill Parker format in classes -or- an equivalent training and permission from Jill at a class) are required to take this workshop. It is highly recommended that attendees take at least one technique class per week in conjunction with the workshop. See you there!! |

You will chose a piece of music, we'll workshop many concepts and ideas around performing it with much group feedback and encouragement/coaching from Jill. Afternoon Session (1:00 - 3:00): This workshop presents two original tribal style combinations, with a complete movement and timing breakdown, guidance to nuance development, and ample drilling to engage muscle memory. This course will include “transition-training” and lead-change practice. Each combo will begin and end in a tribal-friendly position so that it may be added to your preexisting vocabulary. Amy Sigil owns Hot Pot Studio in Sacramento, CA and has been performing and teaching bellydance for over eight years. She danced for several years as half of Haruspicy Dancecraft, before forming Unmata in 2003. Amy’s bellydance style integrates not only her signature Hula-Fusion, but also Bharat Natyam, Flamenco, Hip-Hop, and modern dance. |
